Задняя крышка представляет собой чёрную стеклянную панель. Это контактная площадка для беспроводной зарядки. Датчика пульса на задней крышке нет.
Но главное в дизайне Fossil — это не корпус и ремешок, а софтверные циферблаты.
Их дизайнеры сделали массу, в цифровом или аналоговом виде. Многие из циферблатов позволяют кастомизировать себя, дав пользователю выбор основного цвета, фона и т.д.
Несмотря на брутальный дизайн, часы Fossil выглядят всё же понежнее, чем аналогичные Diesel — у тех всё более топорно и массивно.
Дополняют дизайн заводная головка и кнопки — они и выглядят и ведут себя так же, как и головка и кнопки обычных часов. Можно было бы сделать тактильный отклик чуть ощутимее, но для цифровых они ощущаются весьма и весьма неплохо.

В версию Sport установили аккумулятор ёмкостью 350 мАч. Заряд уходил заметно. К примеру, в 9:15 утра аккумулятор был заряжен на 100%, к 2 часам дня он был на уровне 76%, а к вечеру осталось 56%. В основном умные часы использовались для проверки уведомлений и погоды. Уже ложась спать, я ещё раз проверил уровень заряда – 41%. В принципе, для Wear OS это неплохой показатель. Обычно смарт-часы на этой ОС работают около 12 часов вдали от зарядки.
Если же вы дополнительно занимаетесь непродолжительными пробежками или изредка посещаете спортзал, то к вечеру заряд будет уходить быстрее. Я также проверил это, побежав в парке – к вечеру энергия была на уровне 35%. Если же на ночь включить режим энергосбережения, то аккумулятор Fossil потребует подзарядки где-то к обеду.
Чтобы вы понимали, насколько было объективным тестирование, сравню Fossil Sport с Fossil Q Venture HR и Misfit Vapor 2. Эти часы работают на процессоре Snapdragon Wear 2100 и у них меньшее время автономной работы. К тому же у них батареи на 300 мАч. Fossil Q Explorist HR — это умные часы, которые одни из немногих на рынке мобильных технологий полностью соответствуют моим ожиданиям в отношении внешнего вида и качества изготовления. Последние флагманы от американского бренда чрезвычайно элегантны, моя тестовая версия пришла с кожаным ремешком и отделкой тёмно-серебристого цвета.
Без малейших препятствий вы можете использовать гаджет для более формальных, элегантных встреч. Это правда, что они стали тоньше, но для меня всё ещё довольно большие. В продаже вы можете найти несколько разных версий как с кожаным ремешком, так и на металлическом браслете.
Что касается изготовления, то оно без возражений. Большой дисплей, металлический корпус, кожаный ремешок — каждый из элементов имеет максимально возможное качество. Часы Q Explorist HR уменьшились в размерах по сравнению с предыдущими версиями. Благодаря этому стали более универсальными.
Стоит отметить, что ремешок можно заменить, тем более что Fossil определилась со стандартной шириной и креплением 22 мм, поэтому найти замену вам не составит труда.
Спереди у нас довольно большой экран диаметром 1,4 дюйма. Справа есть три физических клавиши — верхняя и нижняя — это обычные кнопки, которые можно персонализировать в программном обеспечении. Средняя больше не персонализируется, а действует как кнопка меню (мы переходим к списку приложений), а также возвращаемся к основному циферблату.
Между верхней и средней клавишами имеется микрофон, который позволяет использовать голосового помощника Google Assistant. На обратной стороне умных часов есть монитор сердечного ритма, а также магнитные контакты для зарядки.
Хочу отметить, что часы в определённой степени водонепроницаемые — по заявлению производителя, это составляет 3АТМ, что фактически лишь защита от случайного намокания.
Производительность и память
У прошлого Snapdragon Wear 2100 проблем с производительностью не было, однако, со временем прокрутка меню начинала подтормаживать, а приложения могли запускаться медленнее. Новый чип Snapdragon Wear 3100 ничего революционного не предлагает, но его производительность на порядок выше. Прокрутка меню происходит мгновенно, никаких задержек нет ни при навигации, ни при сортировке уведомлений.
К сожалению, такие приложения, как Погода и Spotify на Fossil Sport запускаются медленнее остальных, но работают быстрее, чем на старом процессоре. Голосовой помощник Google Assistant также задышал свободнее, теперь он загружает результаты по запросам практически мгновенно.
В версии Sport, Fossil установила 4 ГБ памяти, чтобы можно было хранить медиафайлы непосредственно на часах. Теперь можете загрузить музыку, подключить Bluetooth-наушники и слушать любимые треки без смартфона.
Экран смарт-часов
Флагманские Fossil Q Explorist HR были оснащены дисплеем диаметром 1,4 дюйма. Экран работает с максимальным разрешением 454×454 пикселей, что даёт плотность на дюйм 327ppi. Добавлю, он круглый, что не так очевидно для других производителей.
На деле панель заполняет почти всю переднюю часть устройства. Вокруг есть кольцо безель, которое, к сожалению никак не используется. В целом с точки зрения эргономики, всё работает очень хорошо. Дисплей Q Explorist HR быстро реагирует на команды, без лишних задержек. Он также защищён стеклом Gorilla Glass 4, имеет высокое качество и чёткость картинки.

Интерфейс стал более удобным и интуитивно понятным. Теперь не придётся запоминать множество жестов, чтобы полноценно пользоваться смарт-часами. Но, вам потребуется немного времени, чтобы разобраться с этим интерфейсом.
По факту нужно знать всего несколько жестов – свайпы влево, вправо, вверх и вниз. Смахнёте снизу вверх – откроется доступ ко всем уведомлениям, которые аккуратно выстроены один за другим. По нажатию открывается дополнительная информация. Повторное нажатие сворачивает уведомление.
Свайп влево или вправо по уведомлению удаляет его. Проведите пальцем по экрану Fossil сверху вниз и откроется доступ к ярлыкам – экономия заряда, Google Pay, режим «Не беспокоить» и т. д. К сожалению, настроить порядок отображения плиток в меню невозможно.
Свайп влево открывает обновлённый Google Fit. Одним движением вы получите доступ к показателям активности. Нажатие по любой из них откроет приложение и на дисплее можно увидеть более подробную информацию.
Проведите пальцем по панели вправо и запустится помощник Google Assistant. Тут вы увидите и собственный список предстоящих событий в календаре, бронирование столика в ресторане и прочую информацию. Думаю, с такой возможностью у вас очень быстро появится привычка с утра запускать Assistant, и проверять оповещения.
Думаю, вы сами понимаете, как удобно пользоваться такими умными часами, где есть шустрый помощник. Можно запланировать поездку даже не доставая смартфон – в момент узнать информацию о ближайшем рейсе или о бронировании номера в отеле. В Sport есть и другие «умные» функции, когда отображается информация о ближайшем кафе или количество шагов за день.
Замечу, что обновлённая операционная система Wear OS стала намного лучше работать с Android-устройствами. Если же у вас iPhone, то некоторые опции для вас ограничены. Придётся каждый раз проверять в iOS, что приложение Wear OS всегда висит в фоновом режиме, иначе вы не будете получать уведомления на часы. К сожалению, это не единственное ограничение. С запястья вы сможете только принимать или сбрасывать звонки.
